Romance scammed? Here’s what to do

Wondering what to do when you’ve been romance scammed? This question has been coming in a lot into my email inbox, my inquiry calls because there has been more traffic and views to my video in regards to the signs of a romance scammer, where I go through the real text of– scammer text to get you. I have another video on how to test the scammer and what to do to confirm it. But I don’t have a blog going over what happens when you realize you’ve been scammed. You realize you’ve been reading my blogs and you’re thinking, “Uh-oh, it’s too late. I did it. I put in money. So, what can I do now?”

Signs of a romance scammer

You good guys, this is so frustrating for me to see you guys be preyed upon in these kinds of situations. You already have a good heart, and you’re just trying to find love. These people are finding your weaknesses, finding you, and taking advantage of you in this way. It is absolutely infuriating. That is why I created the videos that I did. And today, I’ve received enough questions in regards to it that I wanted to make a video about what to do in regards to the after-effect.

First and foremost, if you looked at the signs of a romance scammer and you realize, “Uh-oh, this is definitely one.” Please, please, please, stop communication, stop investing in anything, and don’t give any other personal information. Just stop.

First step to do with the romance scammer

One thing that you do want to collect before blocking this person is if there is any information that she has given. What is and would be helpful is to know where exactly she’s located, her name, and any personal information, just so you can have that. If she’s asking you to put money into an account where you’re entering information, you want to know some of her information as well.

But sometimes at this point, when you’ve already gone too far and you’ve never really asked for her true identity and never received it. It’ll be really, really, hard to get that. And also, I think there’s a high chance she’s lying. But if you have that, at least that’s a piece of information you can use. If anything, you probably have the number she sent you and is texting you from. But the first step is to completely stop communication with this person. 

Romance scammer tactics

I know she’s probably got you emotionally involved but is incredibly, incredibly crucial to stop because she will convince you any other way that this is still a real thing and that you should do this, or worse. They get to a whole other level where it’s not a romance scam anymore. They’d start threatening you about who’s going to come after you, which is even more scary. We just want to stop all communication and block.

Now, secondly, if you have, and I’m assuming most people who have been coming to me, they’ve already started, they signed up and they started investing. It’s really important for you to immediately unlink your bank information, unlink any credit cards you may have put anywhere, deleting any personal information that you can on these platforms. You do not want it to take more from you.

 

What to do if you have been romance scammed

Now, thirdly, and the most important is the unfortunate part is that there is no clear way to get your money, your crypto back. This is why most of them use crypto. It’s a hard space to regulate and track. The best thing you can do is tell authorities, call law enforcement, report it wherever you can, and report this fraud. That is the best thing you can do.

Unfortunately, when you guys asked me if I can help, I don’t know those platforms or companies in those cases and what to exactly do. I’m not in authority to or have the research to. So, the best thing you can do is google what you can do if you’ve had stolen money from a scam in your state, city, or country.

Since I’ve had some people reach out to me from different countries. Every country is different. Unfortunately, I don’t know all the steps and companies in each country and what you can do. But to help you in your area, just google it. Google it. They have a lot of different steps for you to do and who you can reach out to.

 

What to do when you have been scammed out of money

Now, in regards to the States, from what I’ve seen in the US, you can report it to the FTC, the CFTC, the SEC, and Internet Crime Complaint Center, where the FBI could potentially get involved. You could also contact the exchange, the crypto exchange platform, or the company that you’ve been exchanging this on. If it’s completely fake, then it’s not going to go anywhere.

But some mask companies over a real company like Coinbase and such. They may be able to help if you did any transfers in there. I’ll list out exactly what those kinds of companies are below. So, that way you can research and tell authorities, report, report, report. 

Now, you may not be able to get your money back, but at least they have a reporting of this, of these sites, of these fake sites or fake persons, so that is out there. And all we can do is reduce this person or these fake sites to do this even more. And there’s a report of it. But that’s that.

I’m really sorry to not be able to say, “Hey, I know this company, you didn’t get your money back? They’ll get it back.”  That’s not the case. You could potentially call your bank, but I don’t– if you did some bank transfers, potentially. All I can say is, once again, I’m not an expert in this, but I just wanted to write this blog to give you some answers if this happened, for you to feel at least that there’s some direction. So, once again, all you can do is report. And don’t let this happen to you again.

No person who cares about you, or who says they have interest in you (that you’ve never met before), would never, ever ask you to invest any money into anything. Don’t allow them to do this anymore. Spread the word. If you see this happening to other people, tell them to do the steps I did to make sure they’re a scammer. But please, please, please, you guys, stop.

Do not give away your personal information. Do not invest, when any interested girls say so. If it happens to you, I am so, so, sorry. It’s really hurtful to me to hear guys lose thousands, 10ks, 15ks of money. But the best thing you can do now is to stop. It’ll never happen again, and to report. I hope this video helps you guys & pick yourself back up after this situation. I know that the dating journey is not over for you.
